Dr. Carothers is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. After earning his medical degree from University of Virginia School of Medicine, he received additional training through a residency in Pediatrics at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at Duke University.  He loves caring for the Lynchburg community because using his talents and training to keep children healthy and happy is a true labor of love. When he is not providing care at the Heart and Vascular Institute,  he likes to spend his time reading, playing golf, watching suspenseful movies, and helping his three daughters become successful student-athletes.
