Dr. Gary Edelson completed his undergraduate training at Brandeis University in Boston, Massachusetts and medical school and residency training at the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington DC. He completed a fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

 

Dr. Edelson is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and Professor at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in Rochester, Michigan.

 

He is widely published in bone and mineral, diabetes, and lipid disorders. He is a past president of the Michigan chapter of the American Diabetes Association and is a past member of the board of directors of the International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD). He is a past President of the Michigan Chapter of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE), and is a current board member for the National AACE organization. He also serves as the Chief of Endocrinology at Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit and is the Secretary-Treasurer of the Michigan Consortium for Osteoporosis (MCO).
