Dr. Joseph Shehadi was born and raised in a large Christian family in Buffalo, New York. He became the first physician in his family. He wanted to become a physician for all the right reasons; to alleviate suffering, to challenge himself intellectually, and to enter a career filled with discovery. Currently, Dr. Shehadi is a clinical professor of Neurosurgery at Ohio University. He also teaches physician assistants at Ohio Dominican University. He has published several research papers, including a paper on regenerative medicine. In his leisure time, Dr. Shehadi enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons. He has a deep appreciation of religion, art, literature, music, and travel.
Dr. Shehadi’s Training
Dr. Shehadi attended medical school at the University of Rochester of Medicine and Dentistry, ranked by U.S. News among the Top 20 Medical Schools in the country. After graduating with distinction, he did some training at Washington University in St. Louis (ranked #6 in US) and later the world-renowned McGill University- Montreal Neurological Institute for his neurosurgical residency. Dr. Shehadi completed additional fellowship training at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas. For twenty-five years, MD Anderson has been ranked as the nation’s top one or two cancer centers in US News and World Report annual rankings.
Neurosurgery Associates
Dr. Shehadi founded Neurosurgery Associates LLC in 2006, headquartered near Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. For years, it has maintained an astounding reputation for patient care and compassion. BWC, Cigna, and UHC insurances have selected Dr. Shehadi as a preferred neurosurgical provider.
Memorial Health System
In 2021, Dr. Shehadi relocated to Marietta, Ohio to join the Memorial Health System.
Clinical Research
In 2020, Dr. Shehadi published a research article titled: “Combined administration of platelet-rich plasma and autologous bone marrow aspirate concentrate for spinal cord injury: a descriptive case series.”
