Dr. Shelley Halper founded Dermatology Associates of La Grange on the La Grange Hospital campus in 1991. She is a board-certified dermatologist, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a fellow the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Halper graduated Summa Cum Laude from City University of New York at Hunter College, and earned her medical degree from State University of New York at Stony Brook Medical School in 1986. Dr. Halper had two years of training in internal medicine at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, and went on to complete her residency in dermatology at The University of Chicago in 1991.
Dr. Shelley Halper has held many leadership roles within the medical community, including several board memberships. She was selected as Practitioner of the Year 2016-2017 by the Chicago Dermatological Society after having served on their board of directors. She was also Treasurer; and President of the society in 2010. Currently, Dr. Halper serves as Treasurer for the Great Lakes Dermatological Society.
Dr. Shelley Halper and her family reside in Western Springs where they have lived for over 30 years.
