Dr. Sugene Kim is double board-certified, holding specialty credentials from the American Board of Plastic Surgery and by the American Board of Surgery. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery and American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Recognized for her uniquely specialized care by her peers, and loved by patients, Dr. Kim has become one of the most sought-after plastic and reconstructive surgeons for patients who live in the areas of The Woodlands, Conroe, and Spring, TX, and across the greater Houston area. She has garnered a reputation as a caring doctor and a warm and compassionate person.
Dr. Kim graduated from Yale University with high honors, magna cum laude in molecular biophysics and biochemistry, providing a strong foundation for her work as a plastic surgeon. She achieved her medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, NYU. She then completed a general surgery residency at Georgetown University, serving as a chief administrative resident. She trained under Dr. Berish Strauch, a pioneer in reconstructive microsurgery at Montefiore Medical Center.
Continuing on her quest for excellence in surgical technique, she proceeded to complete her cosmetic plastic surgery training under the tutelage of some of the top cosmetic surgeons on Park Avenue in New York City.
Her path then led her to Houston, where she trained in advanced breast reconstruction at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and she was honored to serve as a clinical fellow.
