Dr. Webb completed his residency in Adult Psychiatry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and completed advanced training at Yale University, in the School of Medicine's Child Study Center. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Yale School of Medicine, where he teaches young psychiatrists still in training.
Dr. Webb has a long background in scientific research, and in 2009 completed a highly competitive combined M.D. / Ph.D. program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. His Ph.D. focused on Neuroscience, and he published research on how ion channels in cell membranes react to mutations and chemicals in their environment, and sometimes cause disease. He continues to be actively involved in research, and is presently collaborating with academic institutions to determine how apps and virtual reality can be used to treat mental health problems.
Dr. Webb graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Molecular and Cell Biology from Texas A&M in 2001, and while there published research on the biophysics of ion channels that might be used to sense environmental toxins.
Additionally, Dr. Webb operates the First Principles Psychiatry clinic specializing in unusually complicated cases and 2nd opinions.
