Jonathan Ditkoff, M.D., practices general ophthalmology. He specializes in surgical correction of refractive errors, such as nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism through laser vision correction procedures, which reshape the cornea using the excimer laser. He has been performing refractive surgery for over 25 years. He has performed thousands of laser procedures. As the corneal specialist for The Eye Care Center, he performs corneal transplants and other procedures related to anterior segment disease.
Dr. Ditkoff received his undergraduate degree from the City University of New York and his medical degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse, School of Medicine. He graduated in the top 5% of his class. Dr. Ditkoff served his ophthalmology residency at the highly respected Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. He served a Fellowship in corneal and external disease and refractive surgery at the Albany Medical Center, Albany, New York.
A Board Certified Ophthalmologist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Ditkoff lectures before medical societies and is the director of The Eye Care Center continuing education lecture series for optometrists.
Dr. Ditkoff is affiliated with Clara Maass Medical Center, HUMC at Mountainside Hospital. Dr. Ditkoff performs surgery at Essex Specialized Surgical Institute and Palisades Laser Center in Pomona, New York. Since 1988, Dr. Ditkoff has been involved in a variety of research projects involving corneal and laser vision correction surgery.
