Jose A. Pando, MD, is the board-certified rheumatologist at Delaware Arthritis in Lewes, Delaware. With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Pando has developed a reputation as a warm and compassionate physician. He takes a holistic approach to care, taking into consideration his patient's overall health, not just their symptoms or disease.
After earning his medical degree at Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, Mexico, Dr. Pando relocated to the United States to complete his internship and residency in internal medicine at Yale New Haven Primary Care Program in New Haven, Connecticut. He then went on to complete his fellowship training in rheumatology at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., and the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Pando also completed a fellowship in integrative medicine at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine, University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Currently Dr. Pando is a mentor of New Fellows for the integrative medicine program.
Dedicated to his profession, Dr. Pando has published numerous research papers on various topics in his field of expertise, including research in rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, fibromyalgia, and others. Pando was recognized as a Top Doctor by DelawareToday for many years (2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2021).
Dr. Pando founed Delaware Arthritis and is the medical director of the Lewes Wellness Center in Lewes, Delaware. He is married and is a proud father of 3 children.
