Joseph Sinning, MD, is a hematologist/oncologist with the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute, seeing patients in Plainville, Southington and Torrington.
Dr. Sinning served the greater Hartford and Waterbury communities in private practice and on the staff of St. Francis Hospital for years. His clinical interests include hematologic malignancies, general hematology and oncology, and breast cancer.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Dartmouth College, he graduated from the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Naval Medical Center in Oakland, CA, and the University of California San Francisco, then went on to complete a pair of fellowships. One was in bone marrow transplantation at Stanford University School of Medicine, and the second was in hematology and medical oncology at Yale University School of Medicine.
Board-certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine,Dr. Sinning is also an active researcher. He has served as sub-investigator in medical oncology and blood disorders with the Cooperative Group and Pharmaceutical Studies and has been named a Top Doctor by Connecticut Magazine for many years.
