Kiran Patel, MD, is a board-certified OB-GYN at Patel & Patel, M.D., Inc. in South Charleston, West Virginia. Dr. Patel provides medical and surgical care to women and has expertise in pregnancy, childbirth, and disorders of the reproductive system.
Dr. Patel's journey began with attending medical school at Kasturba Medical College in India. He completed his internship at Kasturba General Hospital and then completed his residency at the University of Wisconsin, where he still holds an active medical license.
Licensed by the West Virginia Board of Medicine in 1992, Dr. Patel is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a fellow of The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Patel also holds certifications with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, The American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology, The Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, The American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. Dr. Kiran Patel was recently appointed to the West Virginia Board of Medicine by Governor Jim Justice to serve a term ending in September 2025.
Dr. Patel has a passion for teaching medicine and educating future physicians. He currently serves as a clinical assistant professor for the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. He is also a clinical preceptor for physician assistant and nurse practitioner students at Alderson Broaddus University, University of Charleston, and Marshall University.
Fitting his description of compassion and caring, Dr. Patel was recognized in the years 2008-2013 with the patient's choice award and with a compassionate doctor recognition award in 2009, 2011, and 2012.
Dr. Patel is married to Leela K. Patel, MD. Together, Drs. Kiran and Leela Patel love to serve in the Charleston community in which they reside with their two sons.
