Dr. Kurt Wehberg has been providing nationally ranked cardiothoracic surgery to the Delmarva Peninsula since 2001.
Dr. Wehberg received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Maryland Medical System in Maryland and his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical System in Maryland.
Dr. Wehberg is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He has served as Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Chief of Robotic Surgery and Medical Director of the Thoracic Oncology program and CTICU, both at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional. Dr. Wehberg, voted as the Top Cardiothoracic Surgeon by Delaware Today Magazine in 2019, 2020 and 2021, began the thoracic oncology and robotic surgery program at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional. He has also authored many peer reviewed medical publications and international presentations.
When Dr. Wehberg is not treating patients, he restores antique Chris-Craft boats and enjoys history. For the past three years, he has been restoring the oldest waterfront home in Lewes, Delaware —“Fisher’s Paradise,” built in 1737 by the Delmarva Peninsula’s first and most famous doctor, Henry Fisher.
